The Service Provider (SP) Lock

The Service Provider (SP) Lock menu is used to lock the cell phone to the SP's SIM card. Once the cell phone is locked to a specific operator, if one inserts a SIM card from a different operator the phone will refuse to accept it! The cell phone will however accept another SIM card from the same operator.

To activate/deactivate this lock one needs a special secret code that is not available to the end user.

Here is how to activate the menu:

Bat. level indicator when turned OFF

When the phone is turned off and the phone is not changing - the bat. level can be seen for a short period of time by pressing the 'NO' key quick once (it has to be quick!) and then wait for about 2 sec. The bat. level will now be shown in the display at its normal position.

An alarm clock turned up too but it never rang. I think this was because there is no clock in the phone.

Free phone calls using the GA628

This trick has only been reported working on PREPAID GSM CARDS and in some countries and with some sw versions.

The prepaid GSM SIM CARD is a kind of "SIM card" which only has a sertant amount of credit on it (like a normal phonebox telecard)... if it can be traced? - we don't know...

Well..here's the trick you dial the no. normally and press YES. While "connecting" is shown on the screen, the following procedure should be carried out: Press CLR then 0 then # and then NO (twice) so as to switch OFF the phone. You can then still speak on the phone while it is switched off but the SIM card does not record your calls which will lead to FREE phone calls in some countries.. we hope!!

Another variant of the code

Make a Call, while the phone says Connecting type 083# (the position 83 must be empty! ), when phone says Pos Emtpy, press the NO key and turn off the phone.

If you can make the call with the phone turned off you will face a problem when you need to hang up the phone...the only way for you to do that is remove the battery...???

Mastering The Windows XP Registry

The Recovery Console

The Windows XP Recovery Console is a tool that allows recovery from a number of failures. Previously, all you could do was boot another copy of Windows XP and hack your way around, replacing files, even registry components, in the blind hope that you would somehow fix the problem.

With Windows XP, you have two tools to use: the Recovery Console and the Safe Mode feature.

The Recovery Console is a powerful, simple (no, that's not an oxymoron!) feature that is supplied with Windows XP, but it is not installed by default. The Windows XP Safe Mode works in the same manner as the Safe Mode found in other versions of Windows. You can modify a number of system settings using Safe Mode (such as video modes). Installing the Recovery Console after the system has failed is quite like locking the barn door

after the horse has been stolen—it really won't work that well.

Installing the Recovery Console

The Recovery Console must be installed before disaster strikes. It will be difficult (maybe even impossible) to install it after a disaster has reared its ugly head. So, let's install the Recovery Console right now.

First, you must use the Windows XP distribution CD (or share containing the appropriate files, if installing from a network device). The Recovery Console is installed using the winnt32.exe program. The winnt32.exe program is the same program that is used to install Windows XP; however, by selecting the correct option, you are able to tell winnt32.exe to not install Windows XP, but to install the Recovery Console instead.

Note It is not possible to install the Recovery Console at the same time as Windows XP. You must first install Windows XP, then install the Recovery Console. If you have multiple copies of Windows XP installed, it is only necessary to install the Recovery Console one time—the Recovery Console will work with as many copies of Windows XP as are

installed.

Follow these steps to install the Recovery Console from the Windows XP distribution CD:

1. Insert the distribution CD and change into the i386 directory.

2. Run winnt32.exe using the /cmdcons option. Typically, no other options are needed, though some users may wish to specify source options, especially if installing from a network share rather than a hard drive.

3. The installation program contacts Microsoft to check for updates to this Windows XP component.

4. The winnt32.exe program opens the dialog box shown in Figure 2.4. This dialog box allows you to cancel the installation if you need to. Note that multiple installations of the Recovery Console will simply overwrite previous installations; in such cases, no error is generated.

5. If there are no errors, the dialog box shown in Figure 2.5 is displayed. The Recovery Console is ready for use at this point.

What's in the Recovery Console?

The Recovery Console consists of a minor modification to the boot.ini file, and the addition of a hidden directory on the boot drive. The added directory's name is cmdcons. The change to the boot.ini file is simply the addition of another line providing for a new boot option:

C:\cmdcons\bootsect.dat="Microsoft Windows Recovery console" /cmdcons

This option consists of a fully qualified file name (C:\cmdcons\bootsect.dat), a text description (Microsoft Windows Recovery Console), and a boot option (/cmdcons).

As everyone should be well aware, the Windows XP Boot Manager is able to boot virtually any operating system (assuming that the operating system is compatible with the currently installed file system).

How Windows XP Supports Booting other Operating Systems

Windows XP can be told to "boot" any directory or file location. For example, the Recovery Console is saved in the cmdcons directory. In the cmdcons directory is a 512-byte file named bootsect.dat. Windows XP will treat a file named bootsect.dat exactly as if it were a hard disk's boot sector. In fact, one could, theoretically, copy the bootsect.dat file to a drive's boot sector location and cause that operating system to be booted directly.

One use for this technology is in a multiple-boot configuration where the other operating system or systems are not compatible with Windows NT (such as Windows 95/98/Me).

The Recovery Console does qualify as an operating system, though it is very simple—and limited.

A major question will always be this: is the Recovery Console secure? In most situations, the

Recovery Console is actually quite secure. The user, at startup of the Recovery Console, is prompted for two pieces of information:

• Which Windows XP installation is to be repaired (assuming that there is more than one Windows XP installation!).

• The Administrator's password for that installation. The Recovery Console then uses the installation's SAM to validate this password to ensure the user has the necessary permission to use the system.

A situation comes to mind: if the Administrator's password is lost or otherwise compromised, not only may it be impossible to use the Recovery Console, but anyone with access to the compromised password could modify the system with the Recovery Console. This is not really an issue, though. If the Administrator's password is lost, that's life. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to recover the password. If the security of the Administrator's password is compromised, then it will be necessary to repair the damage—changing the password is mandatory in this case. In either case, the Recovery Console is no less secure than Windows XP is.

The cmdcons directory holds over 100 files.

Who's Seeding the Net With Spyware?

Young surfers pick up paychecks for posting misleading pitches armed with invasive programs.

It's tough enough sometimes to figure out where you picked up that spyware, but have you ever wondered who planted that digital parasite?

It's likely a young man, maybe a college student, just making a few bucks spreading pop-up ads that contain a package unwelcome by many. And it's a growing cottage industry.

How It Works

Spyware follows your Internet surfing habits and serves up advertisements. You typically pick up spyware by clicking on links, which may not make it clear that you're downloading a "bonus" program when you read an ad or download a program you want.

The Federal Trade Commission defines spyware as "software that aids in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge and which may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge." The federal government and several states are considering antispyware laws, and Utah recently enacted one.

FTC and industry leaders have urged Congress to resist spyware legislation, instead pushing for the industry to adopt self-regulatory practices. They fear that proposed laws define the practice too vaguely, and would prohibit other marketing practices that benefit consumers. But some lawmakers worry that the tech industry will not regulate spyware aggressively enough to protect consumers.

Meanwhile, computer users continue to face the side effects of spyware on their systems: bogged-down Internet connections, identity theft, lost documents, system problems, and potential loss of privacy.

Who's Behind It

The people distributing the links for spyware downloads are paid about 15 cents every time an unsuspecting surfer clicks on their misleading bait.

"Friends signed me up one night, after we'd been drinking," says one twenty-something man, who plants spyware for pay. "They said it was an easy way to make some money."

"All I had to do was sign up and post fake ads, saying things like 'to see my picture click here.' Then when they clicked, it told them they had to download software to see the pictures."

But the user downloaded no pictures; instead, they got the greeting, "Come back later to see my photo." The ad is bogus, but the contamination of the computer is real.

He says open forums and other unregulated sites are the best places to post ads, because large numbers of people are likely to click on the phony links.

"You have to move around," he says, noting that if users complain, he'll be kicked off a site, or a section of a site. For example, he will just move to a different part of a classified advertisement site, he says. "It's really easy, so reposting your ad is not a big deal."

At 15 cents per hit, he got checks every two weeks for a few hundred dollars each.

"I could have made a lot more," he says, adding that he really isn't doing it anymore. "All I had to do was put more ads up and I would have doubled or tripled my profits."

What's the Risk?

The foot soldiers who spread spyware may also become victims of the companies behind the software.

Many companies paying individuals to spread spyware post a disclaimer on their own Web site. It often contains a clause telling readers that if they commit fraud the company has the right to pull their paycheck.

However, the new Utah Spyware Control Act and other privacy laws sometimes invoked to combat spyware consider posting spyware to be fraud.

The spyware spreaders may not be reading the disclaimer themselves. But they do understand the company is paying them to trick people into downloading software, the young man says.

Does he feel any remorse for contaminating the computers of naive users? "Look, they're perverts if they click on my ads," he says, noting that the ads imply pornographic pictures await. "I say some nasty stuff, so, no, I don't feel bad." Anyone online should have a spyware blocker, spam blocker, and a firewall anyway, he said. "If they don't, they're just stupid."

A Challenging Battle

Placing ads online can be a tempting and easy way to make money from home, notes Ray Everette-Church, chief privacy officer for antispam product vendor Turn Tide.

"It is very successful," Everette-Church says. "Hundreds of thousands of dollars a month is generated in this tiered structural referral." He is serving as an expert witness for the plaintiffs in an ongoing adware case arguing against pop-up ads.

Millions of Americans online haven't protected their PCs, and pursuing perpetrators of spyware is more complicated than in other criminal investigations, according to Mozelle Thompson, an FTC commissioner.

"It's hard to identify how many companies are engaged in dangerous spyware, or spyware in general," Thompson says. "The definition of spyware is too broad."

The surreptitious nature of spyware makes it more difficult to track who, where, and how the spyware is disseminated, Thompson told a House subcommittee at a recent hearing.

"Consumer complaints, for instance, are less likely to lead directly to targets than in other law enforcement investigations, because consumers often do not know that spyware has caused the problems or, even if they do, they may not know the source of the spyware," he said at the April hearing.

Bogdan: 

Mama avea doar 17 ani cand m-a nascut si tata, 24 ani. Fiind foarte tineri, le era foarte greu sa ma creasca singuri. De aceea am fost crescut de bunici, in special de parintii tatalui meu care m-au si luat sub tutela de la varsta de 8 ani. Desi am avut dintotdeauna o relatie foarte buna cu mama si tatal meu, adevaratii parinti i-am considerat pe bunicii care m-au crescut. Sunt cel mai mare dintr-o gasca de 4 frati. De fapt am 2 frati si o sora care este mezina. Talentul cred ca-l mostenesc de la bunicul meu (tatal mamei mele), pe care, din pacate, nu l-am vazut niciodata deoarece a murit cu 2 ani inainte sa ma nasc eu. Mama mi-a povestit ca era un atlet desarvarsit. I-am pierdut pe rand pe bunica (mama mamei mele), bolnava de cancer, bunicul care m-a crescut, tatal meu, bolnavi tot de cancer.

Am mai ramas cu mama care din fericire a scapat ca prin urechile acului de aceeasi odioasa boala. Ea a fost nevoita sa se mute la tara deoarece i-au luat casa asa-zisii fostii proprietari. Si o mai am si pe bunica mea care m-a crescut si pe care o iubesc foarte mult, in etate de 87 ani.

Inca de mic mi-a placut sa fac tot felul de chestii prin care sa depun cat mai mult efort fizic pentru ca aveam foarte multa energie. Asa mi-am descoperit talentul. De exemplu, imi placea sa ma duc in santier, aproape de blocul meu, unde ma cataram pe baraci si blocurile in constructie de unde faceam tot felul de sarituri si salturi.

Cum a inceput sa faca sport 

Dupa ce m-am mutat la bunici, asa cum spuneam, la varsta de 8 ani, un prieten mi-a spus ca tatal lui vrea sa-l dea la JUDO. Mi s-a parut foarte interesant si i-am zis ca vreau sa merg si eu cu el. Tatal lui a zis ca ma ia doar daca bunicii mei sunt de acord. Atunci m-am panicat putin deoarece  stiam ca bunica mea e cam fricoasa, asa ca am reusit sa-l comving pe tatal prietenului meu ca ai mei sunt de acord desi nu le-am spus nimic. Asa mi-am inceput eu viata sportiva. Antrenamente faceam foarte aproape de blocul meu, locuiam vis-a-vis de, pe atunci, Stadionul 23 August, actual Lia Manoliu. Pe langa 7 ani de Judo, am mai facut si alte sporturi ocazional: wu shu, tir, biatlon, ciclism viteza, fotbal, inot, sporturi care m-au ajutat si m-au dezvoltat de la mental pana la viteza de reactie, forta etc.

Intr-o zi, bunicii m-au dus la un spectacol de CIRC si asta mi-a schimbat viata. Cel mai mult imi placeau numerele acrobatice... Imi aduc aminte ca la un numar de saltatori la bascula, la un moment dat, in timp ce executau un salt mortal la coloana (mai multe  persoane una peste alta), ceva s-a intamplat si coloana sa prabusit. Fata care facuse saltul se accidentase destul de grav, cel putin asa parea, si nici ceilalti baieti nu aratau prea bine. Evenimentul acela, dar si lucrurile extraordinare pe care le faceau mi-au ramas in cap si mi-am promis ca voi fi si eu acrobat cand voi fi mare.

Fascinatia circului

ARTISTII DE CIRC sunt niste oameni extraordinari,cu suflet si cu demnitate care muncesc foarte mult pentru a ajunge la performante uimitoare. 

Asadar, in anul 1988, la varsta de 16 ani, bateam pe la usile Circului de Stat cu mama de mana. Singurul loc liber a fost la o trupa de acrobatii pe cai. Desi imi placeau foarte mult caii nu era tocmai ceea ce mi-am dorit eu... asa ca, cum s-a eliberat un loc la o alta trupa, de saltatori din leagan, am schimbat calul pe leagan. Aici mi-am facut ucenicia pentru ceea ce aveam sa fac in anii ce urmau sa vina. Am invatat sa-mi coordonez miscarile, agilitatea, sa-mi dezvolt musculatura. In meseria asta, daca nu tragi de tine, daca nu tii la durere si nu treci peste nu putinele momente traumatizante, fizice sau psihice pe care le intalnesti, nu ai nici o sansa.

A venit apoi REVOLUTIA pe care, asa dupa cum imi era firea, am trait-o in mijlocul evenimentelor, in strada. 

Dupa Decembrie 89’, o perioada de aproximativ 1 an nu am mai avut activitate la circ. Am revenit in 1991, de data aceasta, in sfarsit la ce imi dorisem de mic, la o trupa de bascula ce era nou formata, unde m-am si integrat foarte repede. Formam un grup foarte talentat de acrobati, pe vremea aceea aveam foame de performanta, nu ne gandeam la partea materiala... Urmatorii ani i-am petrecut in turnee in strainatate printre care Franta, Germania sau Japonia.

In 1997 mi-am format propria trupa de acrobati "Trupa Spineanu" si timp de 10 ani am activat in spectacole in tara si strainatate cu numere de bascula, handvoltige si bara rusa. 

Alina povesteste despre relatia lor

Ne-am cunoscut in 2002, pe cand Bogdan conducea un grup de acrobati si mai aveau nevoie de o fata pentru intregire. Desi a existat o conexiune intre noi inca de la inceput, ne era teama de o relatie. Daca nu ar fi mers intre noi, am fi stricat totul. Timp de 5 ani, cu bune si cu rele, am ramas doar colegi si cei mai buni prieteni. Cand in sfarsit ne-am dat seama ca ar trebui sa ne eliberam sentimentele unul fata de celalalt si sa formam un "Duo" atat in viata cat si pe scena.

Asa ca, din 2008 ne-am hotarat sa incercam sa facem numere acrobatice doar noi doi. Acesti trei ani au fost probabil cei mai buni ani ai carierei noastre, ani in care am reusit (spuneam noi) sa atingem performante greu de realizat intr-un timp atat de scurt. Am primit si primim in continuare invitatii pentru a lucra pe scene si pentru companii, hoteluri sau cluburi importante din Europa si oriunde am prestat in acesti trei ani am fost respectati, iubiti si reinvitati.

Peste 5 ani ne vedem in primul rand in continuare impreuna. Ne vedem undeva, in Bucuresti, antrenand copii care viseaza, asa cum am visat si noi, sa devina artisti acrobati.

Alina Ioana:

Familia mea este formata din cinci membri: eu, mama, Niculina, in   varsta 61 ani, pensionara; tata, Nicolae, in varsta de 58 ani, lucreaza in Italia;        sora, Dana, in varsta de 38 ani, lucreaza ca si functionar public; fratele, Dan, in varsta de 36 de ani, lucreza in Italia. 

Parintii mei sunt casatoriti de peste 30 de ani. Mama este pensionara pe caz de boala de peste 8 ani, suferind de o boala de inima. Acum doi ani a fost diagnosticata cu cancer la san, insa, din fericire, dupa operatie si un lung tratament acum este bine. In familia mea nu a mai facut nimeni acrobatica, insa eu cred ca talentul il mostenesc de la tatal meu care chiar si la varsta de 58 de ani inca este o fire foarte atletica si chiar mai poate sa faca exercitii fizice (flotari, genoflexiuni sau abdomene) fara prea mare efort.

Cum si-a descoperit talentul

Talentul mi l-au descoperit sora si tatal meu pe cand eram foarte mica (in jur de 5 ani) cand ma puneau sa fac spagatul, podul sau flotari iar mie imi placea foarte tare. Asa ca, pe la varsta de 6 ani, au hotarat sa ma inscrie la gimnastica artistica. Pentru ca fratele meu pratica la acel moment rugby la Clubul Sportiv Steaua Bucuresti, acolo m-au inscris si pe mine. Asa a inceput cariera mea de gimnasta, cariera care a durat in jur de 7 ani, timp in care am reusit sa obtin cateva medalii si diplome si chiar sa fac parte pentru o vreme din lotul national de junioare.

Asadar, foarte mare parte din amintirile mele sunt din sala de gimnastica unde petreceam intre 4 si chiar 8 ore pe zi, 6 zile pe saptamana, alaturi de antrenorii mei, doamna Alina Goreac si domnul Neagu. La scoala ajungeam intre cele doua antrenamente de la gimnastica iar temele le faceam seara, dupa ora 9, sau, spre furia parintilor mei, in clasa, a doua zi. Imi amintesc ca doamna invatatoare si mai apoi, profesorii, stiind de programul meu de antrenament, erau mai blanzi cu mine in unele momente.

La varsta de 12 ani am urmat un tratament cu vitamine pentru un mai bun randament fizic insa din cauza acestora am inceput sa am probleme cu greutatea, probleme care din pacate nu au disparut. Asa ca, la varsta de 13 ani, cand un cuplu de artisti de la circ au intrat in sala de gimnastica si au spus ca au nevoie de o fata pentru un numar acrobatic, am inceput sa visez la asta. Initial, parintii si antrenorii nu au fost de acord, insa insistentele mele au dat roade si ei s-au lasat convinsi.

Parintii si fratii mei m-au sprijinit intodeauna. Inca de cand eram prea mica sa ajung la antrenament singura si unul dintre ei trebuia sa ma duca si sa ma aduca inapoi. M-au sprijinit in momentele grele cand nu primeam nici o oferta de munca si eram stresata, s-au bucurat alaturi de mine cand ofertele veaneau si totul era bine. Am venit la Romanii au talent din mai multe motive. Primul ar fi ca noi credem in talentul nostru, am venit pentru ca este o mare provocare sa participam la un astfel de concurs, pentru ca avem sansa sa intalnim oameni minunati, cu talente extraordinare, oameni cu care impartim acelasi vis... De asemenea, ideea de a participa la o competitie ne creste adrenalina si ne face sa muncim de doua ori mai mult pentru a nu dezamagi.

A fost minunata experienta de la preselectie. Nu ne amintim sa mai fi avut asemenea emotii de foarte mult timp. Mai ales pentru ca ne prezentam in fata romanilor nostri in fata carora de mult nu am mai avut privilegiul sa o facem.

Sincer, nu ne-am gandit ce am face cu banii in cazul in care am castiga. Probabil am face o scoala de acrobati, acesta fiind visul amandoura. De la acest show ne asteptam sa puna pe scena oameni extraordinari. Romanii au talent! Au demonstrat-o si o vor face cu siguranta si in acest concurs.

Ideea de a fi singur printre straini. Ideea de a te deschide atator oameni chiar si cu riscul de a fi judecat si criticat aspru. Ideea de a te vedea pe tine insuti prin prisma altora. Pana am ajuns acolo, tot ce se intamplase in viata mea parea normal, intr-un mod relativ de a o spune.

7.Ce sfaturi le dai noilor concurenti de la “Dansez pentru tine”?

Nu o sa mint si am sa zic ca e totul lapte si miere. Dupa cum am mai zis, e greu, e chinuitor. Dar aici vei descoperi cine esti si ce poti. Pretuiti fiecare clipa petrecuta acolo si ganditi-va ce sansa unica vi s-a oferit.

Recognize this ?? You've got all your windows sized, icons placed the way they look great.... explorer crash! (Or, the thing crashes not that much anymore, but it seems to forget sometimes...) And there you go again.. but, there's a way to recover all your settings, that's windows placing, sizing and icon positions, with just one click (Win 9x/2k).

First, make it all look, once more, just the way you want it to be. Choose about 30 folders you access frequently to look good (don't forget your win- and system dir, program files etc.).

Now these settings are in the Registry, open it and go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

Select the folder 'Streams'. Choose 'Registry' in the toolbar, and 'export registry-key'. The information in the key is being stored in a .reg file, which is a simple textfile. Name & store where you want. Then do the same with the folder 'StreamMRU'.

Close RegEdit and open the last file with notepad. Remove the first line (REGEDIT4) and copy the rest. Then open your first file and paste it at the end. Save, close and make a shortcut to your desktop. And then, have fun and mess up all your favorite folders. Once exhausted (double)click your shortcut and confirm you wanna enter this info into the Registry. Rejoice!

Change the CHKDSK countdown time

When you schedule CHKDSK to run at the next boot, the system will prompt you to press a key to cancel the operation while CHKDSK is running. The system will display a countdown during that cancel period. The default value is 10 seconds. To Change this open up Regedit and locate:

You can change the value to anything from zero to 259,200 seconds (3 days). With a timeout of zero, there is no countdown and you cannot cancel the operation

First of all you need to know where your Linux OS is installed to. that is what drive it is currently living on. Bear in mind that Linux formats the drive as HFS rather than Fat/Fat32 or NTFS. ( These are the file systems used by various Operating Systems).

So HFS Partitions are not seen by windows, so its hidden.

To remove the partitions of Linux in WindowsXP go to your 'Control panel' > Admistrative Tools > Computer Managment

Open 'Disk Management' and you will see your Linux drives recognised as 'Unknown Partition' plus the status of the drive. Bearing in mind you know what partition and disk you installed to it will be easier to recognise as the drive/partition where you had installed it to.

Once you have identifed the drives, 'right-Click' on the drive/partiton and select 'Delete Logical Drive'

Once you have followed this through, you will now have free space.

This next part is very important. Once you have formatted the drive, re format it as your required file system type. either Fat32 or NTFS. Now the important part is coming up !

Fixing your Master Boot Record to make Windows Bootable again.

Have a Windows Boot disk with all the basic DOS Commands loaded on to the disk. A standard Windows 98/Me Boot Disk will work too.

Type in the DOS command :

e.g, from your C:\

fdisk /mbr

Or use your Windows XP run the recovery console, pick which xp install you would like to boot in to (usually you will pick #1)

then type: fixmbr. Answer Y to the dialoge.

Your master boot record will now be restored and Windows XP will be bootable once again. Your System will be restored with your original boot loader that you got with Windows XP.

Introduction

Peer2Mail is the first software that let you store and share files on any web-mail account. If you have a web mail account with large storage space, you can use P2M to store files on it. Web-mail providers such as Gmail (Google Mail), Walla!, Yahoo and more, provide storage space that ranges from 100MB to 2GB.

P2M splits the file you want to share/store zips and encrypts it. P2M then sends the file segments one by one to your account. Once P2M uploaded all file segments, you can download them and use P2M to merge the segments back to the original file.

How to upload a file to ur e-mail account ?

In order to send a file to an email account, Peer2Mail needs to split it into segments. Web-mail providers limit the size of an email attachment usually to a nominal 10Megs

There are 3 ways u can send ur files to the e-mail:

* Direct Send - P2M has a built in SMTP component that sends the segments directly to the web-mail providers. You don't need to enter your ISP details in order to use P2M. If you are using this feature please make sure you enter a value in the 'From Email Address' because some web-mail providers reject email messages where there is no 'From' address. You can even enter a fake mail address.

* Send Via MAPI - P2M can send the segments using MAPI (Usually your outlook client). When you use this option P2M will split the files and move the sending responsibility to Outlook. Note that it will use your ISP SMTP server and details to send the files. You may enter as many recipients as you wish when using this option.

* Send Via SMTP Server - Send the segments using your ISP SMTP Server. If you are using this feature please make sure you enter a value in the 'From Email Address' because some web-mail providers reject email messages where there is no 'From' address. You can even enter a fake mail address. You may enter as many recipients as you wish when using this option.

Ill explain the direct send wich i find it very easy to use.

normally when u open ur peer2mail program u receive an image like this u click the split/send tab as shown in the image

after that u click the folder icon wich is choose a file to send as shown in the picture

u will see an image like this u click browse and choose the file u want to upload in this case ill choose the movie white chicks wich is 700+ mb after that in mail to i type the e-mail account i want to upload the file to either is gmail yahoo walla or any other email account. in the optional encrypted password leave it blank.

also u will find the segment size wich will be how u want ur file to be divided into files of 10 mb that means if u have a movie of 700 mb it will be splitted into 70 files that means u will be receiving in ur inbox 70 e-mails.

after u choose the size wich normally is set to 10 mb u will see the send method here u leave it as direct send wich means u wont need an e-mail to send it this program automatically send it. then there is From Email Address - This is the source address of the mail. This address doesn't have to be valid.

Once you are done, click on the Ok button. here is an image of what ive been talking now:

when u click ok u will find ur file u wanna upload splitted as u can see it doesnt really use ure harddrive.. You can now choose if you want P2M to send all the segments or only specific few by checking/un-checking the checkboxes. Once you are ready, click on the Send button. It may take a few hours to complete the operation depending on the file size and your internet connection. the send button is showed in uthe image below wich is the second icon:

after u done that u can log to ur e-mail in ur browser and find the files there in ur inbox.

now we finished uploading so we wanna share our files without giving our original password!!!

Account Password Encryption/Decryption

If you wish to share your web-mail account with your friends and don't want to give them the real password, you can encrypt the real password and share the encrypted password with your friends. Only P2M will know to decrypt the password and your friends can use it to gain restricted access to the web-mail account without knowing the real password. If a user logged in to either Walla, Gmail or Yahoo with an encrypted password, Peer2Mail limits his permissions on the account. This is done so he wont be able to delete files, change the password or any other settings on the account.

To encrypt a password click on the browser tab and click on the orange key button. as shown in the image below.

when u do that a box will appear saying password u type ur original password in this case i putted sexyjoanna (and no dont waste ur time trying to think thats my password lol is just an example :P ) when u do that click on encrypt and ur encrypted password will be seen as shown in the image bellow.

To insure higher security for your encrypted password, Peer2Mail can use a different encryption key for servers that support SSL (Gmail, Yahoo). This way the password will only work on secured servers. SSL servers encrypt the transportation of data between your computer and the server, so it will be impossible to intercept the password while its being transmitted to the server. To create a secured encrypted password (that will work only with SSL servers) check the "Encrypt password for SSL Servers" checkbox.

so that means if u gonna log into my account to download the files what u do is u go to gmail in this case as an example in ur peer2mail browser tab there u type my e-mail lets say joanna@gmail.com and as password u use the encrypted password wich in this case is |\srXSyaOn3tm9rA==|/ and u will be logged.

so we uploaded the files we encrypted the password now how to download them?

now thats the easy part lol

P2M includes a built in browser so you can easily log into your web-mail account. Before you can merge the segments you need to download them. It is important that you will save all the segments into the same folder. The first segment name ends with the P2M extension and the rest follow with a serial number 001...00x.

u can log to ur browser and download the files one by one but it will take u alot of time!!! so Peer2Mail can automatically list and download files from web-mail accounts. Currently P2M supports auto-download from Gmail, Walla, Yahoo, Spymac, Unitedemailsystems, Xasamail and Omnilect.

so what we do is we click in the browse tab then u click the home icon and u will see the different email accounts available for autodownload as shown in the picture below. after that click the e-mail service u gonna log to type the e-mail and encrypted password( the encrypted password wont work in ur normal explorer or firefox browser)

when u log into an account wich contains files in it in this case i am into an account of a movie called superbabies or baby geniouses 2 as u can see there are 76 e-maills

now u can download one by one but that will take ages so what u do is u click in the download segment icon wich is the autodownload wich is faster to use. it is the folder icon as shown in the image below

when u click it u will see a window appear P2M will then list the segments (may take a few minutes) and at any time you can tell P2M what segment to download by clicking on the checkboxes that appear next to them. as u can see there is an auto merge checkbox u can merge them directly after download if u check it or u can do it later. if u added a decryption password when uploading u will need to type it if u didnt then leave it blank. see the image below

after u choose the files u wanna send u just click download then a window will appear and choose in what folder u wanna save the file. after that the download will start.

now concerning merging the files after instead of after downloading what u do is u click the merge segment tab when u do that u will find underneath ur folders choose where u want the files to be merged or in other word unzipped lets say i downloaded the movie in a folder called p2m but i want to unzip them or merge them in my movies folder so what i do i choose my movies folder so it will be saved there after that i click in the first icon wich is merge the segments in the selected folder when i do that a window will appear there where it says p2m file i click browse and i go to my in this example my p2m folder where i downloaded my movie there i look for the file wich extension is P2m and choose it after that i just click the merge button and wait till the file gets unzipped.
